    This mic works as promised. I’m in San Jose, CA and have received reports from other SSB stations in the midwest and east coast that indicates the mic is clear and modulation was good…NOT great, but good. Reports also indicate that the mic sounds high-pitched or tinny – it’s not a CR577 but it will get the job done. As far as the build quality, the mic feels solid with no rattles when shaking the mic or squeaks when keying the mic. Just for the record my station includes the following: Galaxy DX959 SSB, Uniden…

    Good mic. Gives a lot of punch to the audio — too much at full power. Besides that, my only complaints are, 1) it’s larger than it needs to be, 2) the slider for the power level is easy to inadvertently move out of adjustment, especially in rough environments like an offroad rig, and 3) does it really need to be that in-your-face tomato red? In a Jeep, security is minimal anyway, so I’m not thrilled with putting a neon colored mic on my radio to draw attention and beg thieves to come see what…
