Not Ready for Prime Time Magellan RoadMate 5255T-LMI opted for this unit because of the 5” inch screen size (that’s all the room I have), the integrated/matched backup camera and the price of $250.The installation went without a hitch. It went downhill from there. I finally uninstalled the system and exchanged it for the Garmin 560LMT. ($270 -More about that below). My major disappointments with the 5255-LM1. Locating the GPS satellites took 2-5 minutes. It also had to…

DO NOT BUY THIS ONE! This Magellan model is terrible. I am now waiting for my third unit because none of the units (all new, not refurbished) had major problems acquiring satellite signals. Waiting for the third unit, will see if it does any better. Not betting on it. The GPS, when it works is really good. Landmark directions is a…

I don’t know why other reviewers had so many problems, but after a few days of use mine seems to be working fine both as GPS and as backup camera. It has a lot of nice features, including a color screen, easy to navigate in GPS mode while driving and…
