Product Features

  • The R-1A may be used with antennas up to 5′ and is compatible with 3/8″-24 threaded antennas and accessories.
  • R-1A’s installed dimensions are 2.5″ (65mm) high by 0.600″ (15mm) diameter.
  • The upper and lower body parts are made of chrome plated machine brass. The locking pin is stainless steel and the spring is heat treated spring steel.
  • The R-1A utilizes an external locking design. A benefit of the external locking mechanism is its added ruggedness.

    I bought it so I could easily take off my antenna when parking in my driveway … I bought this item a few months ago and just installed it last week. I bought it so I could easily take off my antenna when parking in my driveway under the carport or in the garage. I used this ONE TIME to connect my antenna for a short road trip. The next time I went to mount it I noticed that locking lug was missing rending it useless and as others said it appeared to be pressed in and not welded.     Great product This stainless steel (ie no rust) quick-disconnect gives you a couple of advantages. First, obviously, it is easy to take your antenna off without a wrench. Handy if you park in a garage and have a long antenna. Second, because you are not having to continually screw-on and unscrew your antenna the screwed-on connections stay tight and resist slowly loosening due to road vibration.
