Cobra CPI2590 2500W Professional Power Inverter

The Cobra CPI 2590 is a professional grade 2500 watt power inverter. This inverter provides 2500 watts continuous and 50000 watts peak household electrical power, allowing you to power up office equipment and household appliances such as TV sets, coffee pot, a small microwave oven, a mini-fridge that draw up to 2500 watts at the same time from your car, truck, RV or boat. Ideal for the cross country professional driver or RV enthusiast that needs all the conveniences of home in the vehicle. In addition it includes a 5v 2.1a USB output ideal for using and charging tablets, smart phones and many other USB powered devices. The unit also features a digital display that illustrates the vehicle’s battery voltage and device connected current consumption in watts on a large led display. The inverter incorporates all the protection circuitry for the unit and the device connected to it. Also, the inverter supports a remote on/off panel switch (sold separately) for an out of the way installation.

    Very Dissapointed So, I have a fairly complex setup, but not too impressed with this. I have a cheap 700w Scosche inverter which happily runs all my electronics, lights and heater in my trailer, which is 50 feet from where the inverter is installed. The only reason I bought a new inverter was I wanted auto reset on low voltage functionality, which the scoshce doesn’t do., This does, and that works fine. This also happily powers my microwave, coffee pot, and most electronics on that same setup, but there’s a few…

    Some technical tidbits I just got this inverter, so can’t claim to review it based on experience. However, I thought the following might be of interest to prospective buyers:Cobra rates this inverter at 400 watts. However, the fine print in the operating instructions says “The inverter can deliver 400 watts for about 60 minutes. The inverter must cool for 15 minutes before it can resume operation at 400 watts.” (That’s in spite of the fact that the unit has a cooling fan.) So this is not really…
